The University was also lauded for its comprehensive programs on reducing the use of paper, managing waste and recycling wastewater and rainwater to reduce dependency on groundwater.

As a testament to the effectiveness of DLSU-D’s sustainable practices, carbon footprint went down from 90,284 tonnes in 2011 to 70,016 tonnes in 2015. Carbon footprint was also reduced from 636 kg in 2011 to 533 kg in 2015.
