Museo De La Salle will hold an exhibit entitled ALSA MASA: Cavite Bakery Traditions as part of its Glimpses of Cavite exhibition program.
It pays special tribute to selected panaderias (bakery) in Cavite captured in still photos by homegrown photographer Ohsie Austria. Inspired by the book Panaderia: Philippine Bread, Biscuits, and Bakery Traditions, the exhibition aims to highlight the Caviteños’ joys, passion, and triumph to sustain a local bread tradition.
The ALSA MASA exhibition is in partnership with Canon, Jherdzfont Graphic Design Services, Republic of Taste by Ige Ramos, and the Cavite Studies Center. The exhibition will run from October 26 -December 16, 2017 at the Museo De La Salle, De La Salle University - Dasmariñas in Cavite.
The exhibit will also feature a Talk Series on November 13 and 14. On the 13th, Ige Ramos will talk about the origins of the ensaymada at 1 pm and Jenny Orillos will expound on baking jargons and practices at 2:30 pm.
On November 14, Antonio Baloy will talk about "The Baloy Experience" at 1 pm and Ige Ramos will return to talk about "Designing for Food: From Plate to Print."
