Psychology students from DLSU-D Karla Kristine P. Bay, Jovie Ann A. Gabin and Allana Joyce B. Sasotona recently won Best Thesis at the Psynergy 11. The paper bested 187 undergraduate theses in Psychology from 22 participating universities across the country.
The research entitled “Ang Konsepto ng Kaibigan ng mga Batang may Suliranin sa Batas” was adjudged Best Thesis (National Champion) by the panel at Psynergy 11 (2017), a national research conference sponsored by Tatsulok (an alliance of Psychology students across the country) and the Pambansang Samahan sa Sikolohiyang Pilipino (PSSP).
“Winning this award is really memorable for the three of us given the hard work and the struggles we had to go through to reach this stage. And we have our family, our classmates, our adviser, our thesis professor, Bahay-Kalinga staffs and the Almighty to thank for," Sasotana said. " But, what is really memorable to us are the personal stories shared to us by these children in conflict with the law (CICL). The stories literally made us cry and changed our lives forever. And, more than anyone, we really have to thank these children who served as our research participants. Salamat po talaga! We hope and pray that we have given them, no matter how small, that possibility for their stories to be heard.
Preparations to participate in the best thesis competition was partly funded by the College of Liberal Arts & Communication’s Achievement Fund. The event was held at De La Salle Lipa, Batangas. Psynergy 11 was held from March 3-4, 2017.
