De La Salle Dasmariñas Alumni Association (DLSDAAI)

The De La Salle Dasmariñas Alumni Association Inc. is a non-stock, non profit organization formed and operated in the public interest to undertake, primarily, educational and secondarily, charitable, social, civic and other similar programs with the end in view of fulfilling the ideals of the De La Salle University System in accordance with the articles of incorporation, by-laws and rules thereof, any amendment hereto.

The association relies mainly on donations, gifts, bequests or contributions from its members to operate. Presently, the main source of funds for the association is the alumni fee paid by the graduates. The association is also empowered to acquire, own, develop, operate, exchange, sell or lease personal or real properties and to invest, re-invest and expand both the principal fund and its interest income for the purposes of the association.

Goals and Objectives:
  1. Promote a closer union and co-fraternity among its members
  2. Encourage and cultivate cooperation between its members and DLSU-D
  3. Establish scholarships for underprivileged deserving students to be able to avail of an education at DLSU-D; and
  4. Update its members regularly

Membership and Eligibility

  1. Graduates of DLSU-Dasmariñas
  2. Those who have studied but not necessarily graduated for the equivalent of at least two (2) years in DLSU-D;
  3. Graduates GEAC-Cavite (1979) and EAC-Cavite and
  4. non-Lasallians confirmed with honorary membership by the Board of Trustees

PERKS AND PRIVILEGES
    Entry to the University
  • Presenting of Alumni IDs at the reception upon entry. The security officer logs the name of the alumni and returns the ID. Different generations of alumni IDs are posted at the main gates (Gate 1 and 3) for easy reference of security officers.

  • In the absence of alumni cards, alumni will be considered as university guest and would have to go through similar process of entry as other valued university guest. The security officers are requested to advised the alumni who enters the university to proceed to the alumni office to apply for this IDs for their future entries.
    Library Services
  • Access to Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldo (AEA) services with minor exclusions such as of printed collections outside the library. A letter of request is needed for the use of discussion rooms.

  • For internet and printing services, a computer unit is allocated at the ERS for use. The usual guidelines on usage apply.

Alumni Awards

The search is open to all bona fide members of the DLSD AAI (graduates of the former Emilio Aguinaldo College 1979-1987 and DLSU-Dasmariñas 1988 onwards) who demonstrated excellence in their chosen career and whose outstanding contribution to the University, csommunity or nation brought extraordinary credit to the University and the Association.

This award is granted to alumni who attained extraordinary distinction and success in their field of endeavor, whose achievements have brought credit to De La Salle University-Dasmariñas and benefit to the community or nation.

    This award is granted to alumni aged 35 or younger at the time of nomination for their significant accomplishments in business or career or for service to humanity.

    The award is granted to alumni for their exceptional service and or leadership to De La Salle University-Dasmariñas or the Association. The award recognizes individuals or organizations who shared their significant time, talent, or resources to the University or the Association over an extended period of time.

    3. Membership in the Alumni Association
    Eligibility:
    • Must be a bona fide alumnus/a of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas
    • Must have at least seven years of uninterrupted service to the Association or University
    • Must have significant contributions to the development of the University and/or Association
    • Must not have pending case or been convicted with any criminal offense
    Conditions:
  • Incumbent board members and DLSDAAI staff are not eligible to nominate and/or be nominated.

  • This award may be given annually during the Grand Alumni Homecoming in May.

    DISCLAIMER:

    DLSDAAI reserves the right to withdraw awards already given if any violation in the eligibility is found. The decision of the Board is final and executory.

    Alumni Scholarship Program

      REQUIREMENTS AND GUIDELINES:
    • The applicant must be an immediate relative (son, daughter, brother or sister) of an alumnus/alumna of DLSU-D. Priority is given to the children of alumni.
    • The grantee is given 100% subsidy on tuition and miscellaneous fees. The grantee shall shoulder the other fees.
    • Proof of relation with an alumnus/alumna. Such must be printed in Security Paper (SECPA) issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
    • Accomplished Alumni Scholarship application form.
    • Letter from parent/guardian to support the need for financial assistance.
    • Parent’s latest Income Tax Return (ITR) or an affidavit of non-filing of ITR (stating the job estimated monthly income).
    • Photocopy of 4th year high school grades. Note: For upperclassmen, grades obtained during the previous semester as certified by the Registrar.
    • Letter of recommendation for financial assistance from the high school principal or guidance counselor.
    • Honors/awards/ recognition received in high school (for incoming freshmen)
    • Latest 2”x2” colored ID picture (3 copies)
    • Vicinity sketch of residence
    • DLSU-D Entrance Test result (for incoming freshmen)
    • The list of priority courses of SPREAD will be applied in the choice of applicant.
    • Must pass the interview by the Committee on Scholarship
    • To remain in the program, the student must maintain a Grade Point Average of not lower than 2.0 and no failing mark in any subject.
    • Must render service of 115 hours to the Alumni Association. The service may be scheduled from Mondays to Saturdays considering the free time of the grantee. However, the grantee may be called upon to assist the projects and activities of the Alumni Association from time to time
    • The Scholarship Committee shall submit its recommendation to the Executive Council and Board of Trustees for approval.
    • Relatives of the incumbent members and officers of the Board of Trustees and Executive Council of the DLSDAA Inc. up to the fourth degree of consanguinity are disqualified to benefit from the program.
    • The application and requirements shall be submitted at the Alumni Office.

    Homecoming and Events

    A number of events each year are organized by the DLSDAA, together with the alumni groups and volunteers like the Alumni Homecoming and collegiate and/or class reunions.

    The alumni are encouraged to organize any kind of alumni event (e.g. reunion, formal reception, testimonial activity) in their area or at the campus. ARPO and DLSDAA will provide the organizers with suggestions on how to organize the event, and help them with the mailing list, campus venues, tours, accommodation, and publicity.

    GUIDELINES ON THE USE OF THE CONFERENCE ROOM/FUNCTION HALL OF THE DON SEVERINO DE LAS ALAS HALL (ALUMNI BUILDING)
    1. The Conference Room shall only be used for meetings, symposia and seminars. The Function Hall is advisable for workshops and similar activities.
    2. The time of the reservation shall only be from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm on weekdays and 8:00 am to 5:00 on Saturdays. Users should present the approved reservation form to the alumni office on the date of the activity.
    3. No phone reservations are allowed. All users of the facility are required to fill out a reservation form available at the Alumni Office.
    4. Reservation is on a “first come, first served” basis. A letter of request is required for reservations earlier than a month and/or for long period of reservation.
    5. Conference Room B shall only be used for a maximum of fifty (50); the Function Hall for larger number of participants, for a maximum of two hundred (200).
    6. Only recognized organizations in the University, offices and departments, and other members of the alumni association shall be allowed to use the facility without charge. Involvement of outside organizations or audience in any reserved fund raising activity shall be charged accordingly. *Outsiders are subject to all applicable University policies.
    7. A full payment upon approval of the reservation shall be required, (which is refundable, provided that the cancellation will be made 3 working days before the event)
    8. All outside users shall be charged for extension beyond the reserved hours computed based on the per hour rate.
    9. The organizer is given two-hour ingress and two-hour egress. No air-conditioning units are on during ingress and egress. User will be charged accordingly beyond the allotted ingress and egress time.
    10. Registered members of De La Salle Dasmariñas Alumni Association Inc. are entitled to 10% discount for the use of the facility only.
    11. All materials/equipments available in the venue/building can only be used within the building and alumni grounds.
    12. The requisitioner shall be held responsible for any loss and/or damage that may be incurred in the use of the facility and the equipment/s.
    13. Posting on the walls (or any similar procedure that may damage paints or wall) of the facility is strictly prohibited.
    14. Lights, electric fans, air conditioning units, and sound system should be switched off after use.
    15. Only equipment available in the venue shall be provided. Entry of mobile equipment (amplifier, large speakers, etc.) shall only be allowed upon the approval of DLSDAAI.
    16. In cancellation of reservation, the user MUST notify the alumni office THREE working days before the date of the event.
    17. The Alumni Association has the right to deny requests to use its facility at its discretion.
    18. The Alumni Association has the right to promulgate modification of any of the guidelines without prior notice.

    Verdeng Verde

    Verdeng Verde is the official publication of DLSDAA for the DLSU-D Alumni Community distributed by the Association and ARPO. Verdeng Verde also has an electronic version that is issued biannually. Through the publication, our alumni can read the latest news about their Alma Mater and alumni network.

    The alumni are encouraged to be writers/contributors of this by sending photos, news or articles about career tips (e.g. job searching, putting up a business, surviving law/ medical school, dealing with co-workers, etc.).
