DLSU-D granted Deregulated Status
DLSU-D was granted the Deregulated Status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), which took effect on October 27 by virtue of Commission en Banc Resolution No. 393-2003.
The university satisfied the criteria for selection and identification of private higher education institutions that shall receive Deregulated Status such as established as centers of excellence or centers of development, outstanding overall performance of graduates in the licensure examinations administered by the Professional Regulation Commission and long tradition of integrity and untarnished reputation.
As a grantee of the said status, DLSU-D shall be enjoying various benefits such as exemption from the issuance of Special Order, freedom from monitoring and evaluation
activities of CHED (provided that the university submits
requested data as part of the data gathering activity of
CHED for its Management Information System), entitlement
to grant of subsidies and other financial
incentives/assistance from the CHED whenever funds are
available, privilege to determine and prescribe curricular
programs to achieve global competence, and authority to
grant Honoris Causa to those deserving (per pertinent
provisions of existing CHED issuance on conferment of
honorary degrees).
The university shall enjoy the said privileges for five years.
With this achievement, DLSU-D has joined 22 other private
higher educational institutions in the Philippines with
Deregulated Status. The certificate that substantiates this accomplishment
will be awarded to the university on November 28 in
Malacañang.
