The Marawi siege which started in late May and ended in mid-October displaced thousands of families and disrupted the education of learners in both public and private schools in the city. Many of them transferred to other schools during the five-month period while others patiently waited until their schools reopened.
As the first groups of learners return to the city, De La Salle Philippines would like to show our support and say “Pakapipiya Ka,” which means We Are One. With your help, we can, together, accompany these school returnees as they rebuild their city and their lives.
Our waterproof Pakapipiya Ka! Bags contain the basic learners’ kit:
- notebook, no spring, 80 leaves
- notebook, with spring, 100 leaves
- pad paper
- ruler 6'
- rubber eraser, pencil sharpener
- glue stick
- brown envelope, short
- pencil case
- short folder
- two pencils
- clear plastic envelope, short
- a built in panache to shield students from the rain
Instead of collecting school supplies, the LCDC would like request donors for cash assistance for easy transfer and facilitation given that this is a collaboration project.
