CHED RQAT Visits DLSU-D for Evaluation of Early Childhood and Special Needs Education Programs
October 1, 2026
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) conducted a day-long evaluation of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas' Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECED) and Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSSNEd) programs. The visit is part of the College of Education's (COEd) bid to secure government permits for both degree programs.
CHED RQAT evaluators Dr. Rosemarie Sabado and Dr. Amor Borbon led the assessment, which determines whether the programs meet the commission's academic, structural, and administrative standards for higher education institutions.
The team reviewed the programs' curriculum, faculty qualifications, academic credentials, and institutional readiness. Evaluators also inspected the University's learning facilities, laboratory spaces, and specialized library materials for early childhood and inclusive education.
University administrators and COEd faculty members received the evaluators, among them Br. Iñigo Riola, Dr. George Francisco, Dr. Twinkle Amparo, Dr. Arvin Gacelo, and Ms. Tina Padilla, together with the COED team.
Once granted, the permits will allow DLSU-D to formally operate the BECED and BSSNEd programs, expanding COED's offerings for future teachers in early childhood development and special needs education.
