DLSU-D Hosts 29th Philippine Mathematical Olympiad Qualifying Stage for CALABARZON

October 19, 2026

De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) hosted the Qualifying Stage of the 29th Philippine Mathematical Olympiad (PMO) on October 17, 2026, serving as the Regional Testing Center for Region IV-A (CALABARZON). Approximately 267 junior and senior high school students from 18 schools in Cavite and nearby areas gathered at the university to compete in the nationwide mathematics competition.

The PMO is a nationwide competition that identifies and nurtures mathematically gifted students. Its Qualifying Stage takes place simultaneously at designated testing centers across the country, giving junior and senior high school students the opportunity to demonstrate their mathematical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

At DLSU-D, the examinations were conducted at the High Complex, St. La Salle Hall. The participation of students from 18 schools brought together young mathematics enthusiasts from Cavite and nearby areas for the regional qualifying round.

As the Region IV-A testing center, DLSU-D provided a venue for students to take part in the national competition. The qualifying stage forms part of the PMO's broader effort to identify students with strong mathematical abilities.
