Br. Cyrill "Kino" Escolano FSC

Br. Cyrill “Kino” Escolano FSC, is a licensed Electronics Engineer and a trained data scientist. He is currently serving as the Vice President for Administration and Program Chair of the Electronics Engineering Department at De La Salle Lipa and still belongs to the faculty roster of the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and Management of the Gokongwei College of Engineering, De La Salle University, Manila. 

At De La Salle Lipa, he oversees human resources, facilities management, central procurement, strategic communications, marketing, safety and security, as well as ensuring the efficient functioning of the institution. He collaborates with senior leadership to drive strategic initiatives while upholding De La Salle’s values and mission. 

He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Southern Luzon State University and a Master of Science in the same discipline from De La Salle University, Manila, through a scholarship grant from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST). He joined the De La Salle Brothers in 2016 after finishing his master’s degree. 

After two years of training as a brother educator, he pursued another post-graduate degree at Singapore Management University (SMU). He finished the Master of Information Technology in Business in 2022. As part of the requirement for his degree, he worked in Singapore as a Business Analyst and Data Science Intern at a healthcare group, for which he was responsible for developing machine learning models for efficient operations of leading private hospitals in Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong. He was a recipient of the Richard Lim Lee Scholarship Award at SMU. He serves as the Vice Chair of SMU Alumni Chapter in the Philippines. 

Br. Kino is also a researcher and has published several technical papers at a Scopus-indexed international publication. He is a member of the Institute of Electronics and Electrical Engineers (IEEE). His research interests include machine vision, machine learning, computational intelligence, and optimization. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Manufacturing Engineering at De La Salle University, Manila.
