Dr. Antonio "Tony" Ramos, FPCS, FPATACSI, MBA

Antonio B. Ramos MD, FPCS, FPATACSI MBA is a specialist in Thoracic and Vascular-Surgery and is the current President of the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute. 

Dr. Ramos obtained his medical degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in 1984 and passed the Physicians Licensure Examination the following year. He completed his postgraduate internship at the Ospital ng Maynila in 1985 and began his general Surgery Residency at the UERMMMC in 1986. 

He embarked on Thoracic Surgery Fellowship at the Lung Center of the Philippines and became the Chief Fellow in 1992. He trained in Cardiothoracic Transplantation at the Stanford University Medical Center, from October 2000 to February 2001 before joining the International VATS Workshop, Shanghai Pulmonary Hospital in 2015. 

Dr. Ramos passed the Philippine Board of Surgery in 1990, the Philippine Board of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in 1993, and Career Executive Service Examinations in 2019. 

Dr. Ramos was the former President of the Philippine Association of Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgeons, the former Chairman of the Philippine Board of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, and the former President of the Philippine Association of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeons, Inc. 

He is also a Fellow of the Philippine College of Surgeons, a Board Member of the Asian Thoracoscopic Education Platform (ATEP), a Council Member of the Association of Thoracic Cardiovascular-Surgeons of Asia (ATCSA), a Life Member of Marikina Valley Medical Society, and the Philippine Medical Association. 

Dr. Ramos was the former manager of the Finance, Administrative and Ancillary Departments, of the Lung Center of the Philippines; the editor-in-chief of the Philippine Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular-Surgery; the Secretary of the Board of Governors of the 1999 Philippine College of Surgeons, and was a training officer of TCVS Consortium, from 1996 to 2005. In 2008, he also earned his Master in Business Administration degree from the University of the Philippines, Diliman. 

He is currently practicing in St. Luke's Medical Center, Cardinal Santos Medical Center Makati Medical Center, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital De Los Santos Medical Center, and the Lung Center of the Philippines.
