The apex of all the ELCs is the Practice Teaching. It is the total immersion of the prospective teacher in the real life of becoming a teacher. During practice teaching, the pre-service teacher experiences the rudiments of teaching in a cyclical process of planning, actual teaching and evaluating learning.
The pre-service teacher, who may be called an apprentice, or student teacher intern, walks through the whole process of teaching with a mentor, who is also called the cooperating teacher. Here, the pre-service teacher puts into actual practice all that was learned in the content and theory courses, strategies or methods of teaching as well as put into test the pedagogical content knowledge acquired in related courses prior to practice teaching. Practice teaching is being held in the different partner/cooperating schools of the institution both in the public and private basic education schools.
