SALIN: Lecture on Heritage Conservation

De La Salle University – Dasmarinas (DLSU-D) Center for Heritage Conservation and Escuela Taller de Filipinas Foundation, Inc. successfully conducted the"SALIN: Lecture on Heritage Conservation" on May 17, 2023. The event took place from 1 to 4 pm at the Tanghalang Julian Felipe, for selected DLSU-D students and faculty members.

"SALIN," which translates to "to transfer" in Filipino, is an enlightening lecture program that aims to impart fundamental concepts of heritage conservation relevant to the Philippine context to diverse audiences.

Through presentations highlighting established conservation principles drawn from Escuela Taller's hands-on projects and other initiatives, SALIN's objective was to raise awareness among Filipinos, encouraging them to take a more active role in preserving the nation's rich heritage.

This particular installment of SALIN concentrated on Escuela Taller's conservation framework, disaster risk reduction and management for heritage sites, and preventive maintenance of heritage locations.

The event was a collaborative effort between the Office of the President and several departments within DLSU-D, including the Museo de La Salle, the Architecture Department, Communication and Journalism Department, Tourism Management Department, and Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldo – Information Resource Center.
