Lasallians pitched in to support different activities aimed at sharing the joy of the holidays this December.
An outpouring of support came from students taking up REED classes as the Religious Education department under its chair Domingo Q. Reblora, Jr. were encouraged to donate toiletries and other supplies for DLSU-D’s athletes under the Pamaskong Lasalyano Para sa mga Atleta project of the LCDC.
As a result, athletes benefitted from fresh supplies of soaps, toothbrushes, toothpastes, shampoos, deodorants, lotions, razors, sanitary pads and bedsheets for their dormitories.
Meanwhile, the Campus Ministry Office (CMO) partnered with Virlanie Foundation Inc., BahayPag-asa graduates, Lingkod Kapatid, “Nanay’s of SimBaHayAn”, Friends of St. La Salle and “SimBaHayAn” High School Group to host a series of activities aimed at spreading the true meaning of the holidays to the those who are in need.
The Paskong Pagkalinga 2018 had for its theme “Paskuhang Tagpuan sa Taon ng Kabataan” and was highlighted by activities like Rosary Making Workshop, Self-Discovery Session, Catechesis Session entitled “The Christmas Story” and La Salle Tour & Games wherein children from partner institutions were treated with fun activities on campus. They also received gifts from members of the Lasallian community who supported the drive.
During the event, University Chaplain Fr. Mark Anthony Reyes also shared the closing message and blessing before the participants returned home. According to CMO Director Jose Arvin Gacelo, they are very grateful for the support of their partners and student volunteers from the Campus Peer Ministers for the success of the activity.
