Scholars of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas will benefit from more scholarship opportunities provided by the University’s partners and sponsors.
Last November, representatives of DLSU-D and the City Government of Imus signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) to sponsor the education of 10 Lasallian scholars. Based on the agreement, the city government will shoulder 50 percent of the funds needed for the students’ full scholarship. The remaining amount will be funded by the University. To qualify for the scholarship, students must be residents of Imus city. The memorandum signing was attended by Imus City Mayor Emanuel Maliksi, Councilor Edwin Malicsi, VCMEAA Dr. Myrna F. Ramos, AVCAS Dr. Sonia Gementiza and CSA Director Jefferson Buenviaje.
Meanwhile, the University also signed another MoA with Refinitiv Financial Solutions (formerly Thomson and Reuters), to provide 21 scholarship opportunities for graduating students taking up Business, Finance and IT related courses. The scholarship also covers P5,000.00 book allowance for one school year, a two-year work opportunity with the company and also an opportunity to render OJT with allowance at the company. The contract signing and orientation for the second batch of 18 scholars has been set for December 5.
Refinitiv Financial Solutions HR Manager Apryl Cinconiegue, Commodities Content and Research Group Team Manager Lia Eugenio, Communications Manager Abby Pacquing and Asst. HR Manager Kervin Bayangos were present for the contract signing.
Aside from scholarship opportunities, partners like Reachout Ville Foundation Inc. are also providing free accommodation at 1 Dasma Place Residences and Dormitory to 10 selected scholars. The opportunity is intended to help scholars who live in distant places to lessen their travel expenses. The scholars may stay for a maximum of four years provided they comply with the requirements set by the foundation and DLSU-D.
