The successful Animosaic 2: Humans of St. La Salle Umbrella Mosaic formation has generated over P2.5 million worth of cash and in kind donations as part of the event’s fund raising component for the One La Salle Scholarship Fund.
According to the official audited data presented by Advancement and Alumni Relations Office Director Marco M. Polo, the event brought in cash and in kind donations amounting to P2,533,845.00 as of May 6, 2019. After the expenses for the event are deducted from the amount, the net donations will be distributed to the different colleges and high school departments to support the One La Salle Scholarship Program.
Polo also reported that a total of 5,700 registrants from the EventBrite site paid the P300 registration fee but only 5,459 were able to attend the event and were certified as participants. Still, he expressed confidence that this will be enough to beat the record set by China for the umbrella formation of a smiley face made up of 3,099 people.
Vice Chief Administrative Officer for Mission, External Affairs and Advancement (VCMEAA) Dr. Myrna Ramos, for her part, thanked the committees involved in staging the event and also expressed gratitude to the DLSU-D community for supporting the Animosaic 2: Humans of St. La Salle. As she shared the team’s experiences in preparing for the event, she also said that DLSU-D was the only university that opted to make the formation of St. John’s image a fund raising activity because the University wanted to help more scholars in keeping with the legacy of St. John Baptist de La Salle on the tercentenary of his death anniversary.
