
In its bid to ensure the safety of students, faculty and staff members at all times, De La Salle University- Dasmariñas has released comprehensive emergency procedures to follow in case of disasters such as earthquakes and ashfall.
The entire Lasallian community is enjoined to abide by these procedures during emergencies.
Emergency Procedures for Earthquakes and Ashfall

Drop, Cover, Hold Inside a Building
- Dropdown onto your hands and knees to protect yourself from falling down.
- Take cover under a piece of sturdy furniture and protect your head and neck
- Hold on to your shelter to protect yourself until the shaking stops
- Walk out of your shelter slowly and look out for falling debris caused by aftershocks

Outside a Building
- Move towards an open area away from buildings, trees, and electrical posts
- Get down and low to protect yourself from unstable structures
- Do not enter the building unless authorized

Inside a Vehicle
- Proceed on the side of the road and stop your vehicle with hazard lights on.
- Do not stop under bridges, overpasses or electrical posts.
- Stay inside the vehicle until the shaking stops. However, go out of the vehicle if it is safe to do so.

Lock, Cover and Hold for Wheelchair User
- Apply and lock the brakes of the wheelchair.
- Cover your head with your arms and watch for falling debris
- Hold on to the wheelchair and keep yourself protected until the shaking stops.

Stay in the Building
- Faculty members with their respective classes are advised to remain calm inside the classroom.
- Close doors and windows to minimize volcanic ash exposure
- University staff and personnel are advised to remain in their respective offices

Park Vehicle and Proceed to Building
- Wear your N95 mask or any available item of the same purpose immediately and seek safety in enclosed structures like classrooms and offices
- Stay inside the vehicle if you are in the parking lot.
- School transport providers for the Junior High School are advised to remain on campus until direct instructions are announced by the Strategic Communications Office.

Inform your Family
Inform your family members of your present situation and remind them not to rush to pick you up from school. It is best that you wait until the ashfall subsides and it is safe to travel.

Check announcements by the MCO
- Wear your N95 mask or any available item of the same purpose immediately and seek safety in enclosed structures like classrooms and offices
- Stay inside the vehicle if you are in the parking lot.
- School transport providers for the Junior High School are advised to remain on campus until direct instructions are announced by the Strategic Communications Office.
University announcements and guidelines shall be provided by the SCO through the official DLSU-D online platforms.
Announcements may include the following:- Suspension of classes
- Traffic Advisory
- Operator assisted hotline numbers
- Environment and physical assessment of the campus
- Other advisories on precautionary measures related to the emergency.
*Government announcements of class suspensions will be followed by the University.

Wait for Further Advice
Security personnel shall assist the community members in their exit from the University.
Those who have difficulties or are unable to leave the campus due to health and safety reasons will be accommodated by the university until it is environmentally safe to leave the campus.
