De La Salle University-Dasmarinas held a virtual signing of a Memorandum of Agreement for the donation of the Gov. Juanito “Johnny” Remulla Sr. Professorial Chair in Political Science.
A professorial chair is established to commemorate a person’s legacy, accomplishment and achievements.
The late Gov. Johnny Remulla established a legacy of excellence as a public servant in the province of Cavite and in the country. He was the longest serving governor of Cavite who advocated for true reform and change to usher in the development of the province.
The donation, amounting to P2.5 million, will support DLSU-D’s continuing drive to advance academic research that will create an impact on society and nation building.
DLSU-D was represented by University President Br. Augustine “Gus” Boquer, FSC, EdD; Vice Chief Administrative Officer for Mission, External Affairs and Advancement Dr. Myrna C. Ramos, and Vice Chief Administrative Officer for Academics and Research Marco S. Saez.The Remulla family was represented by Gilbert Remulla, president of South Seven Realty and Development Corporation.
Also present at the event was Advancement and Alumni Relations Office Director Marco M. Polo, University Research Office (URO) Director Dr. Johnny Ching, and College of Liberal Arts and Communication (CLAC) Dean Dr. Betty P. Tuttle.
