Combating the spread of COVID-19 has been the major preoccupation of many, most especially the world leaders. Yet, aside from the impact of the virus, many are still suffering because of multiple forms of exclusion and deprivation including, poverty, extrajudicial killings, denial of fundamental rights, degradation of the environment, fighting, and discrimination.
Such sufferings are against the will of God for humanity. He wills for the well-being and fullness of life of every creation.
As a Lasallian community, we are called to participate in realizing God’s work of salvation. Through our educational ministry, we are called to be responsive to the sufferings of humanity and work on a more inclusive, liberating and peaceful societies.
With this, we celebrate Human Rights, Democracy and Peace Month, and invite the community to pray with us -- for justice, peace and democracy to be upheld in our country and in the world. We hope that the prayer of St. Francis, and the Gospel reading according to St. John will appease our troubled hearts and inspire us to further contribute in God’s work of salvation for all.
