Team Orgabites took home the 2nd place award for the Most Promising Business Venture category during the recently concluded Cavite Entrepreneurship Student Conference.
The team, composed of team leader Gerson Menta and members Jelah Shyn De La Paz Martin Kritofer Jordan Dox Rendel Cantimbuhan, and coached by Michael del Rosario, proposed the concept of Orgabites, edible cutlery made from all natural and organic ingredients and materials like wheat, flour, water, and olive oil.
According to the team’s coach, Allied Business Department Chair Michael del Rosario, the entry was an original concept by the students since their second year.
“They have studied the market for this and was able to identify it’s viability. What stood out was it is an environmentally and socially conscious product. In addition, it shows great potential interms of marketability and financial viability,” he said.
Prior to submitting their entry, Del Rosario said that the students thoroughly tested out the product by using it on food like soups, coffee and even cold drinks and found that they were durable and did not dissolve easily.
