The Lasallian community held a prayer vigil to seek justice for senseless killing of Computer Science student Queen Leanne Daguinsin last March 28.
Faculty, students, and staff came together to mourn the loss of Daguinsin, a promising student who was reportedly killed by an intruder while she was at her dormitory in Barangay Santa Fe, Dasmarinas Cavite.
It can be recalled that Br. Francisco "Sockie" dela Rosa VI FSC immediately issued an official statement as soon as the University learned of the tragic incident.
We turn to the God of mercy and justice and pray for strength as we work closely with family members and authorities in bringing justice to the senseless killing of one of our students which happened at Barangay Santa Fe, Dasmariñas, Cavite on 28 March 2023.
We have been coordinating with the City of Dasmariñas to tighten security measures through heightened police visibility and we will collaborate with the LGU to conduct thorough inspections of dormitories located near the campus.
In the next few weeks, in coordination with, the LGU, safety marshals from the school will be deployed off-campus in the vicinity of private dorms and other establishments frequented by students.
In light of this event, Br. Sockie enjoined Lasallians to remain vigilant and alert no matter where they are and to set their gadgets to readily respond to emergencies. Counselling and debriefing sessions have also been made available to those affected by the news.
