DLSU-D has successfully renewed its registration with the National Privacy Commission (NPC) for its Data Protection Officer (DPO) and Data Processing System (DPS).
This renewal, valid until 2025, complies with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and covers around 60 systems used across academic operations, including enrollment, library, scholarships, and reservations.
Sancho Castro of the University Compliance Office emphasized the university's commitment to data privacy, noting the establishment of a Task Force for Incident and Data Breach Response, a Data Privacy Manual, and regular seminars for employees and students.
“Our Task Force is dedicated to swiftly addressing any data breaches or incidents. It comprises experts from various departments who collaborate to ensure immediate and effective responses, minimizing potential risks and safeguarding personal information,” Castro said.
