De La Salle University–Dasmariñas (DLSU-D), through the College of Liberal Arts and Communication (CLAC) and the Maleta Project of the Languages and Literature Department (LLD), officially opened Bahay Pagbasa, a community library designed to foster learning, creativity, and values formation among the youth of Barangay Sta. Fe.
The initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Lasallian Community Development Center (LCDC), Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldo Information Resource Center (AEA-IRC), Museo de La Salle, and the leadership of Barangay Sta. Fe. The community library aims to nurture four core areas of development among young learners: Aral sa Buhay (life lessons), Asal (values formation), Sining (arts and creativity), and Aral sa Kabuuan (practical knowledge).
More than a repository of books, Bahay Pagbasa serves as a learning space where children can develop literacy skills, explore their imagination, and cultivate a lifelong love for reading. The initiative reflects the University’s commitment to extending educational opportunities beyond the classroom and empowering communities through accessible learning resources.
By promoting reading and lifelong learning at an early age, Bahay Pagbasa supports the growth and development of young learners, reinforcing the belief that education remains a powerful tool for personal transformation and community development.
