De La Salle University-Dasmariñas Senior High School students recently competed in two academic competitions, the Brainquest at Lyceum of the Philippines University in Intramuros and the Philippine Biology Olympiad at Ateneo De Manila University in Quezon City.
Last February 26, Grade 12 students from the STEM track placed DLSU-D among the top 8 in Brainquest beating 39 schools from the NCR and neighboring provinces. Louise Calairo, Isabel Tendido, Carlo Santiago and Lloyd Dumanayos qualified to the semi-finals with the latter being awarded as Best in Math.
Meanwhile, a team of Grade 11 and Grade 12 students also emerged as the champions of the Amazing Race when they joined the Philippine Biology Olympiad last February 23-24. The students -- Dreamdith Dy, Rafael Nito, Bles Padolina and Adam de Guzman, participated in the event along with 380 students aspiring to represent the country in the International Biology Olympiad.
These student achievers are part of the Science Varsity Family, a team formed by SHS teacher Nian Beceril that are being trained for academic competitions.
