This Refresher Program for Criminology was created in response to the requirement of the Philippine Criminology Profession Act of 2018, for exam takers who failed the Licensure Examination for Criminologists (LEC) five times to complete a refresher course in criminology.
Refresher Program for Criminology
The program applies to all graduates of BS Criminology under CMO No. 21 series of 2005 or earlier CHED issued Policies, Standards and Guidelines referring to Criminology Program and envisions itself to be the source of an intensified review to strengthen the performance of Criminology graduates in the Licensure Examination through undergoing refresher courses supported by any of these - series of review lectures, fora and symposia, and comprehensive examinations. A flexible and yet effective approach will be adapted based on the situational analysis and/or diagnostic test of the student.
A Certificate of Completion of the program will be issued by the HEI through the University Registrar and duly attested by the Dean of the Criminology Program. The certification is valid until two (2) years upon issuance and can be used only to two (2) successive licensure examinations only
- Criminal Law, Procedure and Jurisprudence (CLJ);
Introduction to Philippine Criminal Justice System
Human Rights Education - Criminal Detection and Investigation (CDI);
Fundamentals of Criminal Investigation and Intelligence
Specialized Crime Investigation 1 with Legal Medicine - Forensic Science (FS);
Forensic Photography (lecture)
Personal Identification Techniques (lecture)
Forensic Photography and Personal Identification Techniques (laboratory) - Law Enforcement and Administration (LEA);
Law Enforcement Organization and Administration (Inter-agency Approach) - Criminology (Crim); and
Introduction to Criminology
Theories of Crime Causation - Correctional Administration (CA)
Institutional Corrections
This covers graduates of the BS Criminology program who has failed the licensure examination for five times and are given the permission to retake the second LEC of CY 2022 upon completion of the Mandatory Refresher Program from a duly authorized by CHED Higher Education Institution and whose refresher course is duly accredited by the Board of Criminology.
The enrollee must provide the following document:
- Official Transcript of Records
- Result of the last Licensure Examination for Criminology
The Refresher Program for Criminology is open to: all graduates of BS Criminology under CMO No. 21 series of 2005 or earlier CHED issued Policies, Standards and Guidelines referring to Criminology Program who failed the Licensure Examination for Criminologists (LEC) five (5) times, whether consecutive or cumulative.
- Applicants of the Refresher Program must fill out an Online Application for Admissions thru the Center for Marketing and Admissions Portal.
- Documentary Requirements to be uploaded in the Admissions Portal:
- Birth Certificate
- Copy of your Transcript of Records and Diploma
- Previous result of Licensure Examination for Criminologists (LEC)
