ALJEH

Authors are expected to follow the following guidelines in the submission of articles:

1. Submit the manuscript in MS Word Format. Checking a published article in ALJEH is recommended to meet the format, sections, and overall presentation of an article.
2. The first page should contain the title of the paper, author’s name and affiliation, ORCID number, and email address. An abstract of not more than 250 words indicating a brief introduction, research objective, framework, and findings should be presented. Three to five keywords in alphabetical order should also be included.
3. For an article with several authors, the first author indicated in the manuscript is assumed to be the head writer or lead researcher. The order of authors and/or the list of authors should be final before submission to ALJEH.
4. In-text citation, tables, and figures should follow the Seventh edition of the American Psychological Association Citation format.
5. Format is 8.5 X 11, double-spaced, 1 inch margin, with text in Times New Roman font size 12.
6. The following should be followed as regards language, layout, and organization:

   • Academic tone is expected.

   • The CARS (Creating A Research Space) Model should be followed.

   • Abbreviations should be spelled out in the first mention, followed by an acronym in a parenthesis.

   • Figures should be placed in the manuscript as .PNG and not as separate elements

7. Conflict of interest and how such was addressed must be expressed in the Methods section.
8. Acknowledgment should be placed before the Reference List.

Authors are expected to observe the following:

1. Secure ethical clearance and observe the highest ethical principles in conducting a study and submitting the same for publication.
2. Declare possible conflict of interest and steps taken to maintain validity and reliability.
3. Observe academic integrity by acknowledging sources and submitting original work.
4. Disclose source/s of fund/ grant for acknowledgement.
5. Conduct the research honestly, without fabricating or manipulating data to achieve desired outcomes.
6. Accept collective responsibility in case of multiple-authored research.
7. Communicate or do follow-up only with the ALJEH editor-in-chief relative to article submission and review outcome.

Lasallian code of practice

The editorial board shall be responsible for all the materials submitted by authors. The board shall govern the publication in accordance with this code.

1. Independence: The journal shall not allow itself to be used for private and personal interests that are contrary to the interest of fairness and of the Academic community.
2. Dissemination of Scientific Knowledge: The journal shall dedicate itself to the mission of realizing the effective public consumption of knowledge produced through research by the members of the DLSU-D academic community and of other professional and educational institutions.
3. Ethics: The journal shall adhere to all ethical practices in the journal publication process and shall protect the integrity of the journal by ensuring that all articles that it will publish were completed through the ethical conduct of research.
4. Confidentiality: The journal shall protect the identity and privacy of authors and reviewers at all times especially during the process of article review.
5. Honesty: The journal shall ensure that all information disclosed by authors, editors and evaluators are anchored on and are meant to foster truth and trust.
6. Accuracy: The journal shall exhaust all means necessary to make sure that all ideas and citations in the articles are proper, correct and free from plagiarism.
7. Comment: The journal shall open itself to comments, suggestions, and criticisms that would correct any misinformation that it would inadvertently publish and shall act accordingly by publishing such corrections.
8. Copyright: The journal shall respect and protect all copyright ownership that are owned by each party in accordance to existing intellectual property policies provided in the intellectual property code of the Philippines and of the journal.

Once a paper is considered for publication, authors will be asked to sign a declaration form indicating observance of the editorial policies of ALJEH.

The Editorial Board subscribes to Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) being individual members.

Open Access Policy

ALJEH provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Copyright

Copyrights for articles are retained by the authors, with first publication rights granted to the journal. Authors have the rights to reuse, republish, archive, and distribute their own articles after publication. The journal/publisher is not responsible for subsequent uses of the work.

Submission of a paper in ALJEH will be taken to imply that it presents original unpublished work, not under consideration elsewhere. A copyright assignment form will be sent to the author/s of accepted papers. This publishing agreement should be completed and returned within 5 days.

ALJEH maintains and values academic integrity in all of its processes. In the event that a concern on an article arises, the following will be observed:

• On the Review Process. ALJEH follows a double blind-peer review process. Authors should not communicate with the reviewers relative to the outcome of the review process.
• On Complaints. Complaints like plagiarism, authorship, violation of confidentiality, non-disclosure of funding, etc. must be officially coursed through the
  Editor-in-chief through  jvgochuico@ dlsud.edu.ph or through aljeh@ dlsud.edu.ph who will form an advisory board. Due process shall be observed to either maintain or retract an article.
• On Retraction. An article may be retracted only after a careful deliberation of the Board following due process.
• On Plagiarism. All authors submitting paper to ALJEH should ensure that their paper is free from plagiarism. The publisher and journal have a policy of “Zero Tolerance on Plagiarism”. All submissions will be checked by a plagiarism software before being sent to reviewers.

ALJEH’s abstracting and indexing services provide and store information about the articles. The Journal’s website assures the availability and accessibility of articles for the scientific community and its various stakeholders.

Authors may archive the published version of their articles in both personal and institutional repositories after publication.

ALJEH accepts papers all year round and releases its publications twice a year – June and December, however, to accommodate the publication process submissions received from January to April will be slated for June issue while those received from to July to October will be slated for the December issue.

Special issues are also released.

ALJEH is published through the University Research Office of De La Salle University – Dasmariñas, dedicated to advancing academic discourse and research dissemination.

To support high-quality open-access publishing and journal operations, ALJEH applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication. Manuscript submission and peer review remain completely free.
