Cavite Ordinance Institutionalizes October as Museums and Galleries Month
October 6, 2026
A provincial ordinance now institutionalizes the annual observance of October as Museums and Galleries Month in Cavite, in line with Presidential Proclamation No. 798, s. 1991.
The ordinance promotes the preservation, conservation, and appreciation of cultural and historical heritage, and lays the groundwork for the future establishment of provincial archives and museum galleries.
Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldo - Information Resource Center (AEA-IRC) joins the nationwide observance and recognizes the role of GLAM institutions — galleries, libraries, archives, and museums — in preserving, promoting, and providing access to shared cultural heritage and collective memory.
For the observance, AEA-IRC listed nine museums in Cavite that the public can visit:
1. MUSEO NI EMILIO AGUINALDO — Kawit, Cavite
2. MUSEO DE LA SALLE — Dasmariñas, City, Cavite
3. SARAYBA ANCESTRAL HOUSE — General Trias City, Cavite
4. BONIFACIO TRIAL HOUSE — Maragondon, Cavite
5. MUSEO ORLINA— Tagaytay City, Cavite
6. PACIFIC WAR MEMORIAL MUSEUM — Cavite City, Cavite
7. GERONIMO BERENGUER DE LOS REYES MUSEUM — General Trias City, Cavite
8. MUSEO NI BALDOMERO AGUINALDO — Kawit, Cavite
9. PUZZLE MANSION — Tagaytay City, Cavite
Throughout the month, Cavite residents and visitors are encouraged to visit these sites, where historic landmarks and collections document the province's past and identity.
