DLSU-D Student Wins English Word Processing at National Abilympics Philippines 2026
October 27, 2026
De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) student Alexa Leigh Alegre won first place in English Word Processing at the National Abilympics Philippines 2026, qualifying her to represent the Philippines at an international competition in Finland in May 2027.
A third-year Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting student, Alegre earned the top national distinction in a competition that recognizes the vocational and technical capabilities of persons with disabilities (PWDs).
The National Abilympics provides opportunities for PWDs to demonstrate their skills across professional and creative disciplines. Its competitions also promote recognition of their contributions to the workforce and support efforts to expand employment opportunities and economic independence.
English Word Processing is part of the information and communications technology category, one of several fields represented at the national competition. Other categories include arts and crafts, hospitality, and technical trades.
