Nakaka-Nosebleed ang Heritage Webinar

Museo de La Salle, in collaboration with De La Salle Philippines, DLSU-D Senior High School, and the Nayong Pilipino Foundation, successfully hosted a webinar aimed at enlightening and engaging the youth in the realm of heritage preservation.

Entitled "Nakaka-Nosebleed ang Heritage: A Discussion on the Role of the Youth in Safeguarding Cultural Heritage," the webinar played a pivotal role in educating the youth about the significance of cultural heritage and its relevance to nation building.

The event also sought to empower the youth by highlighting their essential role in protecting and promoting cultural heritage. It facilitated discussions and encouraged participants to contribute fresh and innovative ideas for engaging with and preserving heritage.

Cecille Gelicame, director of Museo de La Salle, emphasized the museum's mission to involve the youth in safeguarding cultural heritage.

"This is an attempt to meet halfway, to share and teach what we know, and at the same time to solicit our audience’s insights and inputs because after all, the youth of tomorrow will benefit from what we have safeguarded today," she said.

Jesser Eullo, SHS Academic Coordinator, lauded the webinar as a valuable platform for students to delve deeper into their heritage.

This webinar is a good venue for our youth to learn more about our heritage. It also concretizes what we teach them in our classes about our culture and arts," she said.

The webinar, which spanned multiple dates, was conducted on September 25, (for all De La Salle Luzon schools), October 2 (for USLS and SJIS), and October 9 (for ASMC and Mindanao DLS schools).

Distinguished experts and resource persons contributed their knowledge to the event. MDLS Director Cecille T. Gelicame discussed "What is Cultural Heritage?" Atty. Lucille Karen Malilong led the conversation on "Cultural Heritage and the Filipino Youth," and speaker Arvin Manuel Villalon shared insights on "Engaging the Youth in Heritage Advocacies."
