Description

It is arguably one of the most important and most recognizable symbols of the Catholic faith with its roots going all the way back to early Christian prayer traditions. Catholic tradition dictates that the Blessed Virgin Mary appeared to St. Dominic, gave him the first rosary, and asked that Christians pray the rosary in order to combat heresy and promote the Gospel.

History showed us that Filipinos are Marian and the deep devotion they have to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Dominican order brought this devotion to the Philippines in 1587, along with the first ever image of the Lady of the Holy Rosary from Mexico. The rosary beads can be made of wood, bone, glass crushed flowers, semi-precious stones (agate, jet, etc.) and precious metal such as gold and silver. These can be optionally worn in the form of a necklace or ring.
