Let Time Heal You

Amid the conflicts and strong disagreements of impassioned voters in the 2022 national polls, Fr. Jerome Secillano of the Nuestra Senora del Perpetua Socorro Parish expressed confidence that the division sowed by the polls will be healed by time.

“Let time heal everything negative politics has brought upon us. One has to realize that we can't have a uniform way of looking at issues and realities confronting us,” he said.

Fr. Secillano said that in the long run, wallowing in anger and disappointments will not do us any good.

“Bickerings and disagreements, if not arrested, will adversely affect our ability to rise from conflicts and see life in a more positive way. Winning the other party to support our viewpoint may not always happen. But, to keep our dignity intact despite those differences is what truly matters,” he added.

“Simply put, reconciliation has to start from within and not from any external interventions that are just too difficult for now to be acted upon,” Fr. Secillano concluded.
