
The Development Studies Student Government is set to hold the 5th Dasmariñas Model United Nations event at the Tanghalang Julian Felipe, Bulwagang Jose Basa, Kitchen Demo Room, and GSB classroom from May 10-12, 2017. The event focuses on the theme “Collective Action towards Achieving a World of Peace, Security, and Sustainability.”
The event is a simulation conference of the United Nations which seeks to engage students in a forum where they could use their abilities to create solutions on pressing issues affecting the people and the world. Model United Nations is an educational activity and an academic competition which focuses on diplomacy, international relations and governance. Participants will represent their assigned countries as ambassadors to different committees of the United Nations.
The event is slated on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 to be held at the Severino De Las Alas Alumni Auditorium. Participants may choose either the morning or afternoon schedule. Attendance to the convention is elective and shall require a pre-registration. There will be limited slots for walk-ins in consideration of the venue.This year, the 5th Dasmariñas Model United Nations will simulate three UN bodies namely the General Assembly, Security Council, and the Human Rights Council.
