
The Strategic Communications Office is holding a photo and video contest that seeks to showcase the creativity of Lasallians. The contest seeks to find the perfect image to depict the theme of the 2017 Lasallian Festival.
Below are the mechanics for the contest. Also included is the criteria for judging.
- The photo contest is open to all sectors of DLSU-D.
- All photos must be in FULL COLOR and TAKEN during the LSF 2017 celebration from February 27 – March 4, 2017.
- PHOTO SPECIFICATIONS:
- Only colored photos are accepted
- Photo size must be 8x12. High Resolution 300 dpi.
- Minor digital enhancement is permitted. Images that have been significantly modified or appear unnatural will be disqualified.
- Images may be cropped and rotated as necessary as long as the rectangular format is maintained and the size is within the specifications above.
- No borders or frames
- No watermarks that will identify the photographer
- No date printed in the photo, though date taken must be stated in the registration form
- No adding or replacing of elements in an image
- No artistic Photoshop and filters
- Red-eye removal and spot editing is allowed
- You can use only one-step enhancement, such as Auto Fix, Quick Fix or Auto Levels
- Entry should be submitted via DLSU-D Schoolbook portal from March 6 – 10, 2017.
- Entries must be originally photographed by the participant.
- No Registration fee. Maximum of three (3) entries per participant is allowed.
- All entries will be officially owned by the SCO and may be published on all promotional collaterals and the name of the photographer will be included.
- Judging
- Criteria for judging are as follows:
- Expression of Theme 40%
- Photographic Quality 25%
- Lighting 25%
- Creativity 10%
- TOTAL 100%
- Winners will be notified three days after the final deliberation via email or thru the schoolbook.
All entries will be judged by a respected Board of Judges from March 13 to 17, 2017 where TOP 3 photos will be chosen.

Living Innovation, Vocation and Education
(Celebrating a Legacy) - The competition is open to all sectors.
- The video must be original, unpublished and unproduced in any type of occasion or event.
- It must be unique, creative and artistic.
- The video should not contain any profane material.
- It shall illustrate Lasallian innovation, mission, vocation and education
- Video outputs may be MTV, Documentary, Feature, Animation or Experimental
- Promote DLSUD as an advocate of environmental conservation and preservation.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
- Clarity of content/visuals. 30 %
The content clearly discusses the objectives.
- Compelling, Impressive/Interesting: 30 %
The content is a very effective tool to promote Lasallian innovation, mission, vocation, education and sustainable environment.
- Creative and artistic execution 20%
Video is original, creative, and unique.
- Competence in the Technical Execution 20%
The video demonstrates competence in the overall quality of production both visual and sound elements. Visuals are well-planned including smooth transitions and balanced audio.
Parade Judging
- THEME – 40%
Group participants exemplify the Lasallian spirit of the parade. Organization of the participants, - APPEARANCE: 30%
Orderly walking, attire (costumes and uniformity), props, - PERFORMANCE - 30%
Stage Presence (audience appeal) 10 % - Coordination and timing 10%
- Entertainment value (“aliw”or wow factor) 10 %
