In recognition of the importance of mental health wellness for Filipinos, the Office of Vice Chief Administrative Officer for Academics and Research, Psychology Department and Student Wellness Center have teamed up to hold a forum on “The Mental Health Law and its implications for mental health practitioners.” The event will be held at the Aguado Viewing Room of the Aklatang Emilio Aguinaldo-Information Resource Center on November 28 from 8-11:30 am.
DLSU-D has invited Dr. Violeta V. Bautista, a clinical psychologist, PAP Board Member, UP Psych Department faculty; PAP representative to the RA 11036 IRR Committee, and consultant at the Care and Counsel Wholeness Center as resource speaker for the event to share her expertise on the new law.
The forum seeks to understand the significance and implications of the new law on mental health as well as the opportunities and challenges it presents for school administrators, mental health professionals, and other stakeholders. The forum also provides an avenue to orient participants on their respective roles and responsibilities in fostering mental and well-being of the students.
Expected to attend the event are DLSU-D administrators, faculty members from the Psychology Department/ Center for Applied Psychology, SWC guidance counselors, DLS-HSI counselors, POLCA officers and other interested members of the community.
