Former Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno recently visited the De La Salle University-Dasmariñas campus and addressed selected students in an event entitled: “Transparency. Morals. Accountability,” at the Aguado Viewing Room.
The event was attended by students who represented the University’s colleges. Former Chief Justice Sereno, the country’s first female chief justice who headed the Supreme Court from 2012-2018, underscored the importance of youth empowerment and the role of young people in promoting social and moral discussions in society.
Sereno also discussed student issues such as tution fee increases and mandatory ROTC before she answered questions in an open forum.
The former Chief Justice also met University President Br. Gus Boquer, FSC and the University’s Vice Chief Administrative Officers at at Bahay Pag-asa Transformation Center for Children in Conflict with the Law after the talk.
The event was spearheaded by the Office of the President, Office of the Provost, and the Advancement and Alumni Relations Office(AARO).
Green FM’s Lance Mejico and Agatha Pablo hosted the event which was streamed via the campus station’s Facebook Live.
