Br. Jose Mari ‘JJ” Jimenez FSC, the Brother Visitor of the Lasallian East Asia District (LEAD), recently visited De La Salle University-Dasmarinas (DLSU-D), where he emphasized the importance of knowledge management, leadership development, and finding meaning in service during his address to representatives of the school administration and sectoral partners.
In his message, Br. JJ underscored the need for schools to effectively manage and share knowledge among faculty, staff, and students.
"In today's rapidly evolving world," he stated, "knowledge is essential, it is an asset. We must cultivate a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within our institutions to ensure that our students are equipped with the necessary skills and competencies to thrive in the 21st century."He encouraged DLSU-D to explore innovative ways to share best practices, utilize technology for knowledge dissemination, and foster a culture of inquiry and intellectual curiosity.
Furthermore, Br. JJ emphasized the importance of developing strong leaders within the Lasallian community.
"Leadership is not just about position,"he said.
"It is about serving others, inspiring others, and guiding them towards a brighter future."He challenged the faculty and staff to embrace their leadership roles and inspire students to become agents of change in society.
Finally, Br. JJ encouraged everyone to find meaning in their work.
"Let us always ask ourselves, 'Why are we doing this?'" he said. "By connecting our work to a higher purpose, we can find greater fulfillment and deeper meaning in our service to others."He reminded the community of the Lasallian mission to serve the poor and marginalized, and to contribute to the betterment of society. He specifically thanked DLSU-D for helping the La Salle school in Myanmar in developing the competencies of their teachers.
DLSU-D President Brother Francisco ‘Sockie’ de la Rosa VI FSC thanked Br. JJ for visiting DLSU-D and Residencia De La Salle which is the Brothers Community based at the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI).
