Christian Community Building
The CMO promotes initiative in organizing Christian Communities by empowering and accompanying groups and pastoral areas as Disciples of Christ, in line with the Pilgrims Handbook.
Under this initiative is the creation of a University Spiritual-Pastoral Formation Committee. Regular spiritual and devotional activities are being co-implemented by this community of volunteers representing the various sectors, colleges, departments/offices of the University. The members are provided with regular ecclesial encounters and formative opportunities.
The CMO also takes charge of accompaniment and animation of Campus Peer Minsters and other affiliate Catholic Youth Faith Communities and Student Organizations.
Life of Worship
To provide opportunities in glorifying God and living a life of holiness through prayer and liturgy, daily Eucharistic celebrations and devotional practices are being held on-site and broadcast online to reach more members of the Faith Community.
The University also produces various prayer materials relevant to devotional practices, seasons and other cultural-religious celebrations in the Catholic Faith and facilitates online Community of Faith groups that regularly conduct bible sharing, praying of the Holy Rosary, and other prayer and worship related activities.
Also among the activiteis being promoted by the CMO is Self-Care, or relevant faith-based activities designed to provide opportunities for students for self-care.
New Evangelization (Using Creative Methods)
To make the Gospel message relevant and responsive to the present context, as expressed and promoted through creative forms and means of evangelization, regular postings of relevant online materials, through various platforms such as Facebook, DLSU-D Webpage, and DLSU-D School Book, are being undertaken.
Meanwhile, TinigLasalyano, is an online publication about major social concerns presented throughhe lens of the Gospel Values, Lasallian Principles and Social Teachings of the Catholic Church.
Creating Culture of Vocations
To create an atmosphere that enables every individual to discover and nurture God’s call to holiness through a particular way of life, the CMO conducts online promotion of vocations through BUKASYON (MagingBukas at Tumugon), an e-material that is regularly posted through the various on-line accounts of DLSD Campus Ministry. They also provide accompaniment to members of the DLSU-D community discerning in their vocations.
Evangelizing Outreach
To carry out the spiritual and corporal works of mercy for the DLSU-D and partner communities and institutions. The CMO facilitates activities like the Saturday School Catechesis, a special program, in partnership with the University Chaplain; to provide weekly Catechesis to the children of the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Chapel Community (including those coming from on-line faith-community). Laudato Si Education is also one of the activities held in collaboration with other faith-communities and like-minded groups for the promotion and “Care for our Common Home.”
Special Events and Initiatives
Organizing activities in support of Major/Special Events of the Catholic Church such as the Recollection Concert in line with the celebration of the 500th Anniversary of Christianity in the Philippines.
