DLSU-D's Student Wellness Center and Psychology Department's Center for Applied Psychology lead the First Mental Health Youth Summit that seeks to increase awareness and knowledge about mental health and eventually find its value to students' well-being. Happening on March 25, 2019 at the Ugnayang La Salle, this is in partnership with the Office of VCAR, University Student Government (USG), Parent's Organization of Lasalle Cavite (POLCA), and the Office of Student Services (OSS). Dr. Constantine M. Della, Psychiatrist from The Philippine General Hospital and Ms. Jean Goulbourn of Natasha Goulbourn Foundation are the resource speakers who would provide relevant information about mental health and mental health problems, the facilitating and risk factors, prevention and intervention programs , among others. With the theme: Nurturing Youth Mental Health and Well-being: Building Blocks Towards Self-Empowerment, the Summit would help heighten personal empowerment and resilience so the students may be able to face and overcome possible challenges of their time.
All freshmen are required to attend the event. Specifically, CLAC, CBAA, and COS in the morning (9 -12: nn) and CCJE, CTHM, CEAT, and COEd in the afternoon (1:30-4:30 p.m.).
