Graduates of the Communication and Journalism program of DLSU-D are continuing to make an impact in the field of media and the arts as they chart significant milestones that bring pride to the University.
Most recently, AB Broadcast Journalism alumna Karen Keith was promoted to the role of Senior Broadcast Journalist at BBC News in Singapore. As part of Asia Business Report team, Keith covers business and economic related news. Prior to this, she was a news anchor and correspondent at Telesifusã de Macau (TDM), a television channel that provides public broadcasting services in Macau.
Two DLSU-D alumnae were also part of the well-received The GMA 7 Presidential Interviews hosted by Jessica Soho. Broadcast Journalism graduates Cristina Aure served as GMA 7’s segment producer while Izza Beatriz Bermudez was on board as associate producer. It can be recalled that the special coverage received positive reviews for well-researched questions and the impressive delivery of the interview of presidential aspirants for the 2022 national polls.
Meanwhile, multi-awarded actor Christian Bables added another recognition to his list of acting awards when he was honored as the Best Actor in the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival for his role in "Big Night!" Bables, a graduate of the DLSU-D's AB Communication program, previously won awards from the Gawad Urian, Hanoi Film Festival, and the Film Academy of the Philippines. He constantly challenges himself by taking on different types of roles for indie and mainstream movies.
