The Academia Lasalliana Journal of Education and Humanities (ALJEH) is now recognized as an international journal.
According to Editor-in-Chief Dr. Jonathan Gochuico, the ALJEH applied to CrossRef, the official digital object identifier (DOI) Registration Agency of the International DOI Foundation last March 18. It took less than a month before the Editorial Board was informed that the application was approved on April 12.
“It is the aspiration of researchers to have a platform to share research findings to stakeholders, and help improve lives and communities. ALJEH's becoming as an international journal affirms DLSU-D's commitment to be in the forefront of this mission. It is my hope that we move forward from a "publish or perish" mindset to "publish and flourish" because publishing research should be primarily caused by a genuine interest to help our stakeholders,” Gochuico said in an interview.
With CrossRef, the ALJEH now has DOIs for its articles, which is needed for international indexing like DOAJ, Google Scholar, among others.
In his message, Gochuico thanked the Vice Chief Administrative Officer for Academics and Research (VCAR), the University Research Office (URO) Director, and the previous editor in chief of ALJEH for their support and commitment to the journal. He also expressed gratitude to Web and Documentation Unit (WDU) of the ICTC for crafting the microsite for ALJEH.
Meanwhile, the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) is currently evaluating the ALJEH.
