
De La Salle University-Dasmariñas joined the De La Salle Philippines Disaster Response Team and delivered immediate assistance to the victims of the flash floods in Iligan City brought about the inclement weather condition.
Together with 1LanaoForLeni volunteers, Lasallians from DLSP, DLSU-D, and La Salle University-Ozamiz, were able to extend help to the different evacuation centers to reach over 2,000 individuals. Meanwhile, the DLSPDRT is still assessing the immediate needs of the affected communities to further provide essential support.
Among the evacuation areas reached by the team were South I-A Central Elementary School Brgy. Tubod, Multi-Purpose Hall Brgy. Saray, Ubaldo Laya Elementary School, Doña Juana Actub Lluch Elementary School Brgy. Pala-o, and Miguel Obach Elementary School in Merila.
DLSU-D, through the Lasallian Community Development Center, contributed P20,000 to the relief drive. The fund came from faculty, staff and students who responded to the call for donations.
Beneficiaries also expressed their gratitude Br. Butch Alcudia FSC, and Ms. Vangie de Peralta for the initial response.
