The municipal government of Silang has signed a Memorandum of Agreement with De La Salle University-Dasmariñas to provide financial assistance to 50 selected students under its Iskolar ng Bayan program.
Each of the chosen scholars will be granted financial assistance worth P30,000 per semester.
Based on the agreement, the local government will partner with DLSU-D for the assessment and entrance exam of Iskolar ng Bayan applicants.
The Iskolar ng Bayan program is mandated by Ordinance No. 011-2022 or "an ordinance institutionalizing the Policy Guidelines for the Availment of Scholarship Grant” authored by Vice Mayor Edward E. Carranza as part of the priority programs of Mayor Atty. Kevin Anarna.
Present during the MoA signing were Sangguniang Bayan members, Atty. Irineo Anarna, Municipal Administrator Nathaniel Anarna, Jr., Public School District Supervisor Dr. Rey Guansing, DLSU-D President Francisco Sockie Dela Rosa VI FSC, and Vice President of Linkages and External Affairs Dr. Sonia Gementiza.
