The recently held Grand Alumni Homecoming at the Ugnayang La Salle not only served as an avenue for alumni to gather after the pandemic, but it also became the setting to honor outstanding Lasallians who have excelled in their respective fields through the Gawad Verde.
Among those who were honored during the event was Sec. Mark Llandro Mendoza of BSBA Batch 1994. Receiving the honor of Most Outstanding Alumni or Gawad Alumni, Mendoza is the current Presidential Adviser on Legislative Affairs and Head of the Presidential Legislative Liaison Office (PLLO). He previously served as former Secretary General of the House of Representatives. During his stint as a lawmaker, he authored eights laws.
Other recipients of the Gawad Verde were Volleyball Silver Medallist in the 30th SEA Games Alnakran Abdilla (Outstanding Alumni in the field of Sports); Municipal Trial Judge At-Large Atty. Jesus Torres (Outstanding Alumni in the field of Law); 2022 TOYM Awardee PMAJ. Rosalino Espineli Panlaqui (Outstanding Alumni in the field of Law Enforcement), Tangere App Chief Architect Martin Xavier Dela Cruz Peñaflor (Outstanding Alumni in the field of Digital Marketing Research); renowned inventor Engr. Michael Manguerra (Outstanding Alumni in the field of Biomedical Engineering); noted College professor and researcher Ronald Rick Manzon, Ph.D. PIE (Outstanding Alumni in the field of Engineering and Technology Research), and Megaworld Group Director of People Management and Development Divina Gracia D. Delos Reyes (Outstanding Alumni in the field of Human Resource).
Meanwhile, PNP Medical Police Captain Dr. Xhyrel June J. Tagaylo, Nissan Philippines HR Manager Marc Zyrus Loyola, SK Federation President Ex-Officio City Councilor of Tagaytay Maria Theresa O. Llorente were the recipients of the DLSU-D Young Patriot Award.
