DLSU-D School of Governance introduced the Barangay Peace and Conflict Transformation (B-Pact) Program.
DLSU-D School of Governance, led by the Master of Sustainable Leadership and Governance Batch 9, is set to launch its inaugural Executive Program on Barangay Peace and Conflict Transformation (B-PACT) on December 7, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Reception Hall, 2nd Floor, Ayuntamiento, De Gonzalez Building.
Building on the success of the Executive Program in Sustainable Barangay Leadership and Governance (BALAG), B-PACT aims to equip barangay officials and Sangguniang Kabataan leaders with vital skills in conflict resolution, mediation, and peacebuilding. This program aspires to empower grassroots leaders to create inclusive, harmonious, and resilient communities.
Aligned with the principles of Conflict Sensitive and Peace Promotion (CSPP) from the Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity (OPAPRU), the program also supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16, which focuses on promoting peace, justice, and strong institutions.
The event is expected to gather around 100 participants onsite, with additional attendees invited to join virtually via the MSLG official Facebook page, where the event will be streamed live.
Participants will engage in discussions on critical topics such as gender sensitivity, fostering community partnerships, and sustainable development.
This initiative highlights the essential role of barangay leaders in resolving conflicts and promoting peace at the grassroots level. For those dedicated to fostering justice and harmony in their communities, B-PACT is a significant step toward achieving these goals.
