The Information and Communications Technology Center (ICTC) of DLSU-D recently held a webinar titled “AI in Our Hands: Power, Potential, and Purpose” for junior high school students. This event was organized in partnership with Power Mac Center.
Kevin Joseph Regla, training manager at Power Mac Center and an expert in technology development, led the session. He discussed the relevance of AI, its ethical applications, and provided a hands-on prompting activity.
ICTC Director Ma. Kristina Miciano emphasized that the department’s initiative encourages students to become more responsible and discerning users of artificial intelligence.
"With this webinar, we aim to help young Lasallians use AI wisely—not to rely on it too much, but as a tool to support their studies."
Maria Louisa Cuaresma, Associate Principal for Academic and Research, opened the event by emphasizing AI's transformative role in society.
“With such immense power comes profound or greater responsibility,” she said, encouraging students to engage thoughtfully with AI.
Regla closed the session by inspiring students to lead the future of AI: “Be the generation that leads with heart, with purpose, and with wisdom.”
This initiative underscores ICTC’s commitment to fostering knowledge and empowering DLSU-D students through meaningful learning experiences.
