Dasmariñas City, Cavite – De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) proudly celebrates the remarkable achievements of its student-researchers and faculty mentors from the Allied Business Department (ABD) under the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), who brought honor and distinction to the university through their outstanding performance in two major academic conferences this year.
Three Economics students emerged as top awardees at the 2nd ISTREL International Transdisciplinary Research Conference 2025 (IITRC2025) held on May 25, 2025, at Taguig City University, organized by the International Society of Transdisciplinary Researchers, Educators, and Leaders, Inc., in partnership with Taguig City University.
- 🏅 Ace Kit R. De Lana, mentored by Rosario Reyes, earned the Best Abstract Award for his paper: “Examining the Nonlinear Dynamics of Domestic Petroleum Product Prices and Inflation in the Philippines Mediated by Interest Rates.”
- 🏅 Zaira Mae P. Dagohoy, also guided by Rosario Reyes, received another Best Abstract Award for her study: “Moderating Effect of Institutional Quality on the Relationship of Trade Policies and Total Factor Productivity in Selected Asian Countries.”
- 🏅 Bonel Elias Dela Luna Castillo, under the supervision of Dr. Willington Onuh, received both the Best Presenter and Best Abstract Awards for his research: “Effect of Gender Inequality on Human Development in Selected ASEAN Countries: The Moderating Roles of Macroeconomic Variables.”
In another research milestone, Maria Angela Dela Cruz clinched 2nd Place in the Best Paper Competition (Student Category) at the Second Dasmariñas Research Congress, held last April 30, 2025, at Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas. Her paper, titled “Oil Price and Sectoral Greenhouse Gas Emission in the Philippines: Mediating Effect of Economic Development and Energy Consumption,” was advised by Dr. Alice Valerio.
“These achievements reflect not only the academic rigor and research excellence of our students but also the strong mentoring culture within the Allied Business Department,” shared Dr. Willington Onuh. “We are incredibly proud of their contributions to meaningful and relevant research.”ssß
Dr. Alice Valerio also emphasized the importance of student research in advancing sustainability goals, saying, “Our students’ work demonstrates how research can drive solutions to pressing socio-economic and environmental issues. I am proud to see them take bold steps in exploring complex global challenges through an academic lens.”
