DLSU-D welcomed a delegation from St. Mary’s College California for a cultural exchange highlighting Filipino culture and traditions.
Br. President Francisco “Sockie” de la Rosa VI FSC, Dr. Sonia Gementiza, and Dr. George Francisco of DLSU-D greeted the visitors, who attended a lecture by renowned scholar on Philippine society and culture, Marvi Aguilar. Aguilar’s presentation covered Philippine history, culture, and contemporary social dynamics, providing valuable insights into the country’s rich heritage.
The La Salle Filipiniana Dance Company showcased traditional Filipino dances, reflecting the country’s cultural diversity, earning applause from the audience. The delegation also visited Museo de La Salle, where they explored Spanish and Pre-Spanish colonial artifacts, offering a deeper understanding of Filipino history.
The visit concluded with a discussion on the importance of cross-cultural engagement in global education, further strengthening ties between the two institutions. This exchange marks another milestone in DLSU-D’s international partnerships.
