Students from the DLSU-D College of Criminal Justice (CCJE) brought home five awards from the 7th National Student Congress held in Tagaytay City.
The congress, entitled "National Criminology, Forensic Science, and Industrial Security Management Student Congress," featured competitions in research presentations, debates, essay writing, speeches, and quiz bees.
Notable winners from DLSU-D include:
- Debate (Gold, 1st Placer): Jian Ailyn Ambayec, Anne Kathrine V. Maquirang, Ma. Adelaine C. Buriel, Ulahmaria Assunta Therese L. Urubio, and Naomi Hannah S. De Lima
- Forensic Science National Quiz Bee (Silver, 2nd Placer): Maria Carlota S. Cruz and Zarielle J. Arancillo
- Extemporaneous Speech (Silver, 2nd Placer): Jacob Elijah A. Sanchez
- Best Speaker and Best Debater: Ma. Adelaine C. Buriel
Dr. Rodel G. Esmilla, RCrim, CCS, Dean of CCJE, expressed pride in the students' achievements, emphasizing that these awards reflect the hard work and high standards of the college’s academic and professional training.
“These accomplishments not only bring pride to our institution but also highlight our commitment to fostering excellence and preparing students to contribute meaningfully to society,” Dr. Esmilla said.
Dr. Alrien Dausan, Vice Governor of the Professional Criminologists Association of the Philippines (PCAP) and Chair of the National Student Congress, congratulated the winners, calling their achievement a testament to the college’s rigorous academic and practical training.
“This victory underscores the effectiveness of the CCJE curriculum, showcases the students' deep understanding of criminal justice principles, and elevates the institution's reputation among peers,” said Dr. Dausan.
The success underscores CCJE’s dedication to producing highly competitive students capable of excelling in various competitions.
