The College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology (CEAT) of DLSU-D recently organized a series of charitable initiatives, demonstrating its commitment to community service and sustainable development.
A group of BS Mechanical Engineering students—Kristan Kyle Tibayan, Eldwin Matthew Villanueva, Kierovhin Villanueva, and Naulty Jaen Jr.—donated a Paper Recycling Machine with Optional Banana Trunk Fiber Infusion to Bahay Pag-Asa.
Guided by Engr. Eugene Cañiete, the machine transforms discarded paper into usable recycled sheets, offering an eco-friendly solution for the facility.
Meanwhile, two other BSME student groups, mentored by Engr. Gabriel Tecson Jr., donated coffee powder dispensers to Brgy. Tua, Magallanes, in support of the BaTuFa Cooperative.
- Tommy Leonardo, RJ Rosario, Christian Caratihan, and Ricardo Fajardo created a dispenser with a five-layer coffee bean sorter.
- Alphonzo Pastias, Ibn Ikeda, Natalya Pauig, and Hanicka Jacobo designed a machine that automates the dispensing of 8–9 grams of coffee powder.
In a separate initiative, CEAT is collaborating with the De La Salle Medical and Health Sciences Institute (DLSMHSI) – College of Rehabilitation Sciences (CRS) to construct therapy rooms for Bukal ng Kapayapaan in Trece Martires, Cavite.
Architects Joselito Cillo and Earl Kesternich Distor presented room layouts aligned with CHED standards and tailored to the needs of children with special needs.
These projects underscore CEAT’s dedication to applying education in real-world settings and empowering communities through innovation and compassion.
