DLSU-D has declared February 25 a school holiday to mark the 39th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
This follows a directive from De La Salle Philippines (DLSP), which announced the suspension of classes across all De La Salle Philippines institutions in observance of the historic event.
On February 17, DLSP released a statement entitled “Pwersa ng Tunay na Pagkakaisa,” highlighting the class suspension as well as their stand on the “downgrade” of the People Power Revolution to a special working holiday.
“This action seeks to diminish the significance of a pivotal moment in our nation’s history – one that toppled a dictatorship and restored civil liberties,” DLSP wrote.
DLSP calls all Lasallians to use February 25 as their time to reflect and rekindle the true spirit of People Power.
