Dean Marivic Mitscheck and Prof. Maryli Rosas of the College of Information and Computer Studies (CICS) have been selected to participate in the University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) scholarship workshop, hosted by Kansai University in Osaka, Japan from June 2–7, 2025.
The workshop is part of the Japan Hub for Innovative Global Education (JIGE) initiative, which promotes capacity building among UMAP institutions through a blended mobility program. This includes a three-week virtual course held in April, covering key topics such as Education 5.0, technology integration, innovative pedagogy, digital curriculum development, and the use of AI in education.
In Japan, participants will engage in a full-day workshop at Kansai University and visit the World Expo, where they will experience a live demonstration of Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) with Expo participants.
This international engagement is expected to bring fresh insights and global best practices to CICS, enriching both faculty development and student learning.
